Remember That? Pokémon Snap Station!

The long lost art of searching through Blockbuster for a newly released game is a fond memory of mine growing up in the 90's. I remember the Blockbuster I used to go to as a kid had the game section next to a huge window, so every N64 box was sun damaged. Though there were many rental stores none had the appeal that Blockbuster had for me and no one else offered the coveted Pokemon Snap Station.


The Pokemon Snap Station was a marketing campaign by Nintendo where you could bring a memory card with game data from Pokemon Snap on it and print out a sheet of 16 stickers featuring the photos you have taken. You could also find a sticker album from Nintendo Power that you could add the stickers to once you had printed them out.

To use the station you would first play the game and save the photos you want to print out. Next, you would bring your cartridge or memory card into Blockbuster and buy a snap station card. Finally, you would insert the card into the slot on the snap station along with the snap station card and print out the photos of your choice. Unfortunately I did not get to use the Pokemon Snap Station often, but Pokemon Snap is one of my all time favorite games on the Nintendo 64.
